This stock image depicting a guy checking out another girl (to the horror of his girlfriend) quickly became one of the most versatile "object labeling" memes on the Internet.

The meme started going viral on August 19, 2017 after a Twitter user posted the photograph with the man labeled as "the youth" being distracted from his girlfriend "capitalism" by "socialism."

The New York Times published the meme in its Business section on May 29, 2019 referencing the proposed merger of Renault and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The boyfriend is labeled as "Renault" who is distracted by "Fiat Chrysler" with his girlfriend "Nissan."
