Larry Landweber 2012 Internet Hall of Fame Inductee

Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Landweber is inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in 2012 for creating the Computer Science Network (CSNET), an intentionally open computer network that helped pave the way for the modern Internet.

Dr. Landweber, a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin - Madison from 1967 to 2000, is best known for founding the CSNET project in 1979, which later developed into NSFNET. He is credited with having made the fundamental decision to use the TCP/IP protocol.
