SupraNet Reached Out to Surrounding Madison Area Communities with Third OC12 Connection

In 2004 SupraNet Communications added a third OC12 connection, allowing for Internet services to reach businesses in outlying communities that previously had very few options.

An OC12 is the equivalent of twelve T3 lines and each T3 line is the equivalent of 28 T1 lines — making an OC12 connection equal to 336 T1 lines.

This expanded service met the needs of businesses that required high bandwidth. According to Bryan Chan, President and CEO of SupraNet Communications, Inc, "Many businesses use T1 lines and multiple T1 lines because they require rapid, efficient and reliable network connectivity in order to stay competitive or grow their business. For our Madison area customers this new OC12 line will provide additional redundancy and reliability. For businesses in the new communities that we can now reach, they now have a viable choice."
